Use this mild method only on confirmed, intact chrome.

    Step 01

    Patch-test on a hidden area

    Check the faucet maker and finish before cleaning. Dampen a soft cloth with water and one drop of mild dish soap, then wipe a small hidden area such as the underside of the spout. Rinse and dry immediately. Stop for colour transfer, dulling, flaking, pitting or a texture change.

    Prepare a lightly soapy cloth

    Wet a clean microfibre cloth with warm water, wring it thoroughly and add only a few drops of mild liquid dish soap. Do not spray the tap directly. Keeping the cloth damp rather than dripping prevents liquid from pooling in handle gaps, joints, electronics or the base seal.
